Eligibility
Must have/meet:
- Resident of Boyd, Carter or Greenup County
- At risk of loss of utility service
- Meet program guidelines for household income and expenses
- Have not received utility assistance or rent assistance in the last 12 months
Required documents
Please bring with you:
- Current gas shut-off/delinquent notice
- The previous 2 months of gas bills
- Current month's rent receipt if home is rented
- Documentation of monthly mortgage payment and receipt to show proof of payment if home is owned
- Most recent bill for all utilities the client pays and receipts to show proof of payment of each
- Documentation of court-ordered monthly child support payments, if applicable
- A valid Neighborhood Card

Also provides holiday assistance for the Christmas season through the CAReS Giving Tree Program.
